There is always possible to perform a repertoire on any level. Playing chord structures, melodies, rhythm and improvising at the early phase are the elements of the same importance to to choose from. Ideally musicians would meet and play with each-other, or less experienced would participate playing of more experienced musicians. But realistic in this days we are forced to compensate the lack of time by playing along tracks or by using good tablet apps.
